Wound Care

Our Center for Wound Healing is dedicated to the treatment of chronic or non-healing wounds that have not responded to standard medical care within 30 days.

Through the expert application of advanced therapies including negative pressure, bio-engineered tissues, and biosynthetic dressings, we are able to heal even the most chronic types of wounds.

Our services include laboratory evaluation, imaging testing, debridement, advanced dressings and more, as well as advanced skin grafts, skin and muscle flaps, and other surgical treatment options.

Health Information

Conditions

Our Center for Wound Healing provides specialized treatment for chronic or non-healing wounds. When wounds persist, a specialized approach is required for proper healing. Typically, a wound that does not respond to normal medical care within 30 days is considered a non-healing or chronic wound.

Persistent non-healing wounds can cause deeper skin erosion, infection, and complications that can be damaging to organs and limbs, which might require amputation. Non-healing wounds can be life threatening, particularly for those with diabetes or a heart condition.

Conditions that can cause a non-healing wound include:

  • Diabetes
  • Poor circulation
  • Infection
  • Traumatic or repetitive injury
  • Surgical incisions
  • Small burns (1st and 2nd degree)
  • Immobility
  • Edema
  • Inadequate Nutrition
