WARRINGTON, PA – Doylestown Health Cancer Institute will be celebrating National Cancer Survivors Day (NCSD) on Sunday, June 4, 2023, from 10 am to 12:30 pm at the Health and Wellness Center.

NCSD takes place on the first Sunday every June when people across the globe unite to honor cancer survivors. With more than 18 million cancer survivors living in the United States, NCSD provides an opportunity for them to connect with each other and the ongoing challenges that they face, as well as celebrate life and their supporters.

It is also a day to highlight the resources, research and legislation designed to improve survivors’ quality of life, according to the National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation.

“Cancer survivorship is defined as starting at diagnosis and continuing through the balance of life,” explains Meaghan McGuire, NP, oncology nurse practitioner and survivorship coordinator at Doylestown Health Cancer Institute. “As the number of cancer survivors increases, awareness of the difficulties they endure is also growing. Having a community that has been through the same journey is imperative for survivors to thrive. National Cancer Survivors Day has been developed to help support those living with cancer and raise awareness of the hardships cancer survivors face beyond their time in treatment.”

Participants in the free NCSD event can enjoy light refreshments and mini-sessions with psychologist Laura Simonelli, PhD, as well as learn about and participate in the healing practice of Reiki and the gentle, holistic and musical movements of Nia. International speaker Yvonne Kaye, PhD, MSC, who is a strong advocate of humor and spirituality, will provide the keynote address.

The event will occur from 10 am to 12:30 pm on June 4 at:

The Health and Wellness Center, Ground Floor
847 Easton Road
Warrington, PA 18976

Registration is required and space is limited. For more information and to register, call 267.885.1580.
