Cancer survivorship starts on the day you are diagnosed with cancer and continues throughout your treatment and the rest of your life. At Doylestown Health’s Cancer Institute, our Survivorship Program connects you with an advanced practice survivorship specialist who will partner with you and follow your health and well-being before, during, and after cancer treatment.

As your healthcare needs evolve, you will receive tailored survivorship care to monitor your overall well-being. Our experts focus on your physical and emotional needs, providing support, resources, and information to help you stay well.

Services Provided

Survivorship Care

We understand that your healthcare needs and concerns change when you receive a cancer diagnosis, during treatment, and after your treatment is complete. Survivorship care offers follow-up at essential milestones, and resources to support your ongoing health.

Survivorship care includes:

  • Appointments with our highly experienced survivorship specialist
  • A summary of your treatment
  • Information about potential long-term side effects associated with your treatment
  • Post-treatment recommendations
  • Follow-up care referrals
  • Health tips
  • Community and educational resources

You will also receive counseling about your care. Studies have shown that personalized survivorship care in conjunction with one-on-one counseling leads to better outcomes for cancer survivors.

Cancer survivorship starts on the day you are diagnosed with cancer and continues throughout your treatment and the rest of your life.

Your primary care physician can help you transition into survivorship care. If you have a history of cancer, you qualify for a survivorship appointment and do not need a referral unless your insurance requires one.
