August Community Education

Doylestown Health remains committed to bringing quality education to the community. Join Doylestown Health certified health education specialists and nutritionists, local mental health professionals, and other select local professionals as they present important subject matter.

Doylestown Health is pleased to offer both in-person and virtual classes and events. We also offer an outdoor, socially distanced, low-impact exercise, and health education activity called Walk with a Doc. Registration is required.

Virtual Learning Made Easy

Follow these easy steps to pre-register for a virtual class:

  1. Click on the links below to register for the virtual educational webinars.
  2. You will receive an email in advance of the class start time containing a link to follow on the day of the scheduled virtual class.
  3. Mark your calendar!
  4. At the time of your scheduled virtual class(es), using a smartphone, tablet, or computer, locate the confirmation email and click the "Join Virtual" link OR "Click Here to Join" link. Please note, some virtual events may require a password to join – this can be found in the registration confirmation email.

How to Train for a 5K

Do you have a goal to go from walking a 5K to running a 5K? Perhaps you have a goal to simply get moving safely? This educational webinar will focus on how to start walking and build up to running 3.1 miles, also known as a 5K. Lara Miller, ultra-marathoner and shoe specialist from North Wales Running Company, will take you through the steps to build from walking to running including how to make it fun and stay injury free! Walk with a Doc

Did you know that walking just 30 minutes a day can reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes? Our speaker this month is Christopher Baccash, a Doylestown native and a member of the Doylestown Health-sponsored Bike Works pro cycling team. Chris is a recent grad from University of Penn. with his master's in Applied Physiology and Wellness. He will be speaking on the relationship of exercise and wellness, followed by a walk around Delaware Valley Campus. Please meet us in Parking Lot D.

National Senior Day

National Senior Citizens Day is August 21st and we want to celebrate and honor our seniors with a day of activities and fun! Join us at the YMCA in Doylestown for an exercise sampler geared towards seniors with all activity levels, take a tour of the facility, and learn about different membership opportunities that the Y has to offer! In the afternoon, join us across the street at the Doylestown Health Ambulatory Center to learn about health literacy followed by a presentation on senior isolation. Opioid Education and Narcan Training

Free opioid education and Narcan training for Bucks County residents. Join The Council Of Southeast PA, Inc. and Doylestown Health for a learning opportunity regarding opioid drugs, what they are, how they work in the human body, and how to a respond to an accidental opioid overdose with the use of Narcan nasal spray. Narcan will be provided free of charge to all attendees. Registration is required due to limited seating.
